Questions parents ask us

How accurate is it?
Barcode scans use the product's exact published ingredient list matched by a deterministic rule engine — no AI guessing in the safety path. When we can't verify a product, we tell you plainly instead of guessing. And we never use the word "safe": the final check is always yours.
What about "may contain traces of…" warnings?
Cross-contamination lines are surfaced separately and visibly on every verdict — never buried, never merged into the main result. You decide how strict to be; the app can flag them as warnings or full stops, per family member.
What if a product isn't in the database?
We launch with coverage of the large majority of US & UK packaged goods. If a product is missing, you can photograph the label — you confirm what we read before any verdict is given, and the product gets added for everyone.
How does the family plan work?
Each family member gets their own profile — allergies, severity, and how strictly to treat trace warnings. Every scan is then checked against all profiles at once, and the result is color-coded per person. Up to six profiles share one dashboard and scan history.
What happens after I buy something?
CareBite keeps watching. Saved products are re-checked daily for ingredient changes, and recalls are matched against your pantry and each person's allergies. If something changes, you get an alert that says exactly which product and which family member it affects.
Is this medical advice?
No. CareBite is an information tool that helps you read labels faster. It doesn't diagnose, treat, or replace guidance from your doctor or dietitian — and it's designed so you always verify the label yourself.
When does it launch?
We're building now, launching first in the US and UK. Waitlist members get early access and a founding-member discount on the annual plan.
